RESIDENTS AND THEIR FUR BABIES
For a very large number of those who enjoy the reserve on a daily basis with their dogs, many great friendships are made. New dogs and their owners are readily welcomed into the ‘pack’ and many spend an hour or two a day there chatting while their dogs play, some retired, some living on their own with no family nearby, some unwinding from stressful days at work or catching up with their children after school.
Just as for humans, regular exercise is a necessity for dogs to remain healthy and mentally stimulated. Off leash areas, where dogs can run, are highly valued and becoming more rare.
The loss of the use of this reserve to the dog walking community would be absolutely devastating.
